In the mid-90’s we created a black online bookstore Sarafina Books. The aim was to set up a book program in which  reading of literature about African black culture and history would be promoted for a broad target group in the Netherlands. Our books weren’t available in the regular bookstores hence there was a great need for it in the black Dutch community. Until this day we keep focus on this target.

In 2020 we came to the conclusion  that we wanted more tools to connect black people. Not only by reading and learning about ourselves but through love. Love is something that everybody wants and needs. So we came up with the idea for a unique dating app for people searching for BLACK LOVE. Despite the numerous dating apps available these days, one can agree that none of them is specifically dedicated to and for black people.

Therefore, Zoukru is here to fill that gap and deliver best in class platforms that allows you to connect with other black singles easily and seamlessly. We believe love has no boundaries with regards to race. Even though the platform is built for people of African descent, we also welcome adults from all walks of life who are predominantly looking for BLACK LOVE.
